In my twenties I would venture into art galleries and was in awe of the art that people created. Deep down inside I would fantasize that I could paint and would tell myself if I were able to paint I would fill my house with beautiful paintings. Little did I know that 15 years later at the urge of a friend that I would enroll in my first of a series of art training courses at a local junior college. My first class was in Freehand Sketching which taught me perspective, lights and shades. I treasure my first painting produced in 1979.
Once I created my first oil painting my world was never the same. Every picture I look at is a potential painting. Seeing an old dried up leave from a maple tree can be a magnificent thing because of all the different colors in it and I can picture it in a painting. An old fence, a simple daisy, a basket, a seashore not to mention a sunset the list goes on and on.
I reside in New Mexico where the sunsets are indescribable as well as some of the landscape. I am a detail painter and will offer landscapes, florals, still lifes, animals, seascapes and portraits.
As a member of the Rio Rancho Art Association I regularily have paintings hanging in the Rio Rancho and Albuquerque area. Currently I am showing at the West Mesa Hospital in Northwest Albuquerque.
